1. Take pictures of all damages.
2. Make temporary repairs to prevent further damage from occurring. Keep all receipts to give to your adjustor.
3. Call your insurance company directly to report the claim. This may be faster than if we call in your claim for you. Most policies have a single season hurricane deductible, so you may want to report your claim even if your damages are less than your deductible.
4. Get estimates for repairs to give to your claims adjustor. Do NOT begin repairs until you speak with your adjustor.
BE PATIENT! Insurance claims are handled on a 'triage' basis. This means that the people with the most severe damage get seen first. If your neighbor's house has no roof, they will be seen before the person who has only lost a few shingles on their roof.
