David Willbur has an extensive background in both personal and commercial insurance in Florida. He has a strong sense of integrity, desire to serve customers, and belief in educating clients on potential risks and options for insurance protection.

Before joining Post Insurance, David both owned and managed multiple insurance agencies along the Treasure Coast. He was the owner of his own agency, the David G. Willbur Insurance Agency, for 26 years. That agency merged with Harbor Insurance Agency in 2003, where David served as President from 2005-2009. Then in 2012, David started Florida Smart Insurance LLC before joining forces with Post Insurance in 2024.

A natural-born leader, David has served on insurance company agency councils, statewide committees for the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA), and President of the St. Lucie County Independent Insurance Agents’ Association. In addition to serving his clients and the industry, he also believes in giving back to our community. He has served as Treasurer of the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce and St. Andrews Episcopal Church; former Board Member Gulf Stream Council, Boy Scouts of America; past Commodore Pelican Yacht Club; and currently Treasurer of Mustard Seed Ministries and a Board Member of the Estates of Longwood Homeowner’s Association.

In his free time, David enjoys spending time at home, church, and with family. He is proud of his two grown children, John and Beth, both whom graduated from local high schools. John is a civil litigation attorney in Orlando. Beth, a summa cum laude graduate from Radford University with a Masters degree in English, is the Vice -President of a marketing company in Virginia.
