Post Insurance partners with Red Cross to give Fire Aid

Port St. Lucie, FL -  Post Insurance & Financial is partnering with the North Treasure Coast Chapter of the Red Cross as a corporate sponsor of their Comfort Kits. These kits contain vanity items and other personal essentials. Kathy Post, Owner of Post Insurance, stated that they chose to partner with the Red Cross because of their shared mission to help those during times of loss -  no matter how large or small.

Jaana Jennings is a client of Post Insurance who knows first-hand about losing everything. While preparing leftovers after Thanksgiving, her home began to fill with smoke. Jaana rushed to get her temporarily immobilized husband, Lott, and 10-year old granddaughter out of the house. "The Fire Department came, the Red Cross came, and then Post Insurance came. They all helped when our home was destroyed," said Jennings.

Red Cross Branch Manager, Eileen Halatyn, said "As a corporate sponsor of the Comfort Kits, Post Insurance is helping to ensure the Red Cross will be here for local residents like the Jennings' at their most desperate hour of need."

Jaana's sharing her story to help others avoid potential devastation. "A few years ago, I almost made a costly mistake when I called to reduce my insurance coverage. I thought since our home was worth less it should be insured for less and was hoping to save money. The folks at Post Insurance explained why I didn't want to do that. I'm so grateful that I listened and that the insurance was there," said Jennings.

When you talk with Jaana, you'd never know she was the survivor of one of life's most horrific disasters. I'm so grateful to the Red Cross for their help immediately after the fire. After this experience, we're going to increase our donation," she vowed.

As part of their 30^th Anniversary Celebration, Kathy Post of Post Insurance brought together Jaana Jennings and Eileen Halatyn of the Red Cross for a brief presentation.
