May God bless your family with abundance, peace, and good health.

Kathy Post Bio

Kathy Post is a 3rd Generation Florida native. She was just 2 years old when her parents moved to the small town of Port St. Lucie in 1969.  Kathy has been entrenched in the business since it's inception.  She watched her dad start Post Insurance out of their living room and at the young age of 12 had become its first 'employee.'  From typing labels on an old typwriter in their living room, to filing and answering phones in their first office, Kathy was learning insurance at the same time she was learning long division.

Kathy enjoyed seeing the relationships her father built with his customers.  She knew she wanted an insurance career, so upon graduating from John Carroll High School, she worked full-time as a licensed agent while earning degrees in Business from Indian River State College and Barry University.

Kathy worked hard to establish her own client base within Post Insurance.  The age difference between her and her father meant she was poised to tap into an entirely new generation.  She devoted the first decade of her professional career to educating young people through the Nationwide Insurance Prom Promise program.  She single-handedly brought together leaders from the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Department and Superintendent of Schools to educate youth on the dangers of drinking and driving.  She created a scholarship program and as Prom Night approached went on radio shows, TV, and into the schools to encourage teens to not drink and drive.  She is proud to say in the 10 years of spearheading this program, there was no significant incident on prom night in St. Lucie County.

Kathy's success as a young agent caught the attention of leaders in her industry.  She was an active member in several local and statewide professional associations, including the Port St. Lucie Businesswomen and Florida Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (FAIFA).  She has held leadership positions with both organizations and was named the FAIFA Regional Vice President of the Year.

While building her business, Kathy met and married her husband Jeff Janocsko.  Jeff has transitioned through 3 very distinct professions; mechanical engineer, licensed life insurance associate in the agency, and 'stay-at-home-dad' to their 2 youngest children.  In addition to managing their busy household and his volunteer service at their church, Jeff can often be seen handling maintenance and renovation projects around the office and jokingly refers to himself as 'Schneider' from the popular 1980's TV show.

In addition to being a dedicated professional, Kathy inherited the values of community service that had been instilled in her as a child.  In her 35 years as a career woman, she has served on many important committees and boards including the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce and Sunrise Theatre Foundation.  She's an active member in the Economic Development Council, Treasure Coast Builder's Association, and Port St. Lucie Business Women's Association.  She was in the Chamber's Leadership Class XVIII and over the last 3 decades has served the St. Lucie County United Way, Heart Association, Early Learning Coalition, Port St. Lucie's Women on Wall Street, Girl Scouts, and others.

Her selfless devotion has been recognized by others.  Nationally, she has been named among the 'Top 40 Elite Women in Insurance' by Insurance Business America and received the Corporate Community Service Award from Nationwide Insurance.  Locally, she has received the United Way Spirit of St. Lucie Community Angel Award, Trailblazer Award from the Treasure Coast Business Summit, has been a nominee for the Economic Development Council's Pete Hegener Leadership Award, and winner of the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce Business & Industry Award.

As a businessowner, Kathy is a leader who cultivates a positive environment and harnesses the strengths of her staff.  She, and her sister, Becky Post (Vice-President of Business Operations) are conscious in creating employee engagement.  They believe strongly in the pillars of recognition, reward, and active listening.  Insurance can be stressful and challenging. They help employees find balance by infusing fun and humor into the office with theme lunches, easter egg hunts, and legendary Halloween costumes.  They look for creative ways to celebrate and show appreciation, from small tokens of appreciation to trips away for the whole office.  Kathy and Becky were pleased when Post Insurance was named 'Best Place to Work on the Treasure Coast' by Indian River Magazine in 2019.

She is active on several insurance advisory councils, bringing the concerns and needs of her customers to key decision-makers.  She is a self-described 'insurance geek' who enjoys reading and talking about insurance.

In an industry all about managing risk, she is a leader who thinks outside the box and is willing to try new things.  Kathy is clear about her values and has a deep spiritual commitment. Who she is as a person - wife, mother, and grandmother - extends to everyone she meets.  From being a role model as a former Girl Scout Leader, to awarding scholarships to young women, to nurturing her employees, to being a trusted advisor to her clients, to mentoring female agents around the state, to chairing boards, Kathy Post is a true inspiration and trailblazer.

Kathy and husband, Jeff of 25 years, have four children and two grandsons. As a family, they enjoy camping, arts and crafts, and traveling.

Kathy is as passionate about insurance today as she was when she first joined the agency in 1985.  As technology permeates every area of our lives (like artificial intelligence, self-driving cars, drones, cyber attacks), Kathy has continued to believe in the power of the very human and personal relationship.  Although her business believes in embracing technology and innovation, it's her magnetic personality that turns the the dry-and-stuffy world of insurance into a pleasing experience that so often fosters life-long and multi-generational relationships with clients.

Kathy's never too busy to talk with her clients.  Give her a call today.  She'd enjoy talking with you.
